The leader in standardized training and credentialing for medical professionals engaged in delivering osteoporosis care
Osteoporosis: A chronic condition with severe consequences
In the U.S., 50% of women and 25% of men over the age of 50 will experience bone fractures, leading to reduced mobility, chronic pain, diminished quality of life, significant financial burdens, and an increased risk of premature death.
Resources for osteoporosis providers are alarmingly limited
Providers are overwhelmed with extensive data, fragmented protocols, and a lack of clear clinical standards. Most are left to develop their own testing, treatment, and management programs, with limited time and resources making it a struggle to implement effective care strategies.
There are insufficient numbers of providers and clinical capacity to manage the current bone health crisis
The American Society of Osteoporosis Providers (ASOP) is addressing this crisis by creating and implementing standardized and widely accessible training, certification, and testing programs. Additionally, ASOP is developing an automated digital care model designed to enhance provider effectiveness, increase patient volume, and improve provider profitability.
These initiatives will streamline the process for identifying, testing, treating, and monitoring patients with osteoporosis and other bone health conditions.
Our Goal is to significantly increase the number of certified osteoporosis providers while providing the tools and support needed for improved quality and profitable care delivery.
